G. Douglas Vallee Limited was retained by Haldimand County in 2012 through a competitive request-for-proposal system to take on a Project Management role for the construction of three fire stations and community facilities. Vallee completed three initial projects and Haldimand County was so satisfied with our performance, we were single-source awarded a fourth project in South Haldimand. In the Project Management role, Vallee led the County through the following successful projects:
- Cayuga Fire & EMS Station and Emergency Services Headquarters: The Cayuga facility is approximately 1,467 m² (15,790 ft²). Construction was completed at a cost of $2.5M.
- Hagersville Fire & EMS Station: This facility has a total floor area of approximately 1,006 m² (10,800 ft²). Construction was completed in 2015; tender price for the project was approximately $2.5M.
- Canfield Fire Station: The Canfield station is approximately 483 m² (5,200 ft²) in floor area. This facility was constructed through the design-build process at a total cost of $1.1M.
- South Haldimand Fire Station: This project is a re-work of the Canfield design, as previously referenced, and located in a rural setting south of Cayuga. Construction was completed at a value of $1.1M.
