In partnership with Archaeological Research Associates Limited, G. Douglas Vallee Limited assisted with the preparation of the Strategic Conservation Plan for the historic Henley Bridge, on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. The three-span spandrel arch structure, which carries eight lanes of QEW traffic, is nearly a century old in continuous use. Designed as the gateway to the first divided highway in North America, it was officially opened by King George IV while on tour in Canada, just prior to the outbreak of World War II.
