This project was the removal of the Highway 54 Bridge over an abandoned railway in Cayuga.  The bridge required significant maintenance and was no longer needed as the railway that it spanned had long been abandoned and was no longer in service.

To allow for the removal of the structure, a temporary by-pass road was constructed around the work area to allow traffic to continue to flow along Highway 54 between Cayuga and Caledonia.   Once the temporary road was in place, the bridge was removed, and the road was lowered, and the area under the former bridge was filled with excess material from the project.

This project also included the construction of a new access road to the community trail, which now uses the former railway bed as a walking trail.
